In an era of a crime-ridden London and over crowded prisons, three regular objects became cursed after the execution of 1000 convicts in England. The quill signed their death warrants, the gallow performed the execution, and the silver key locked away the bodies in a tower dungeon that now lays beneath the Brigands Hill Cemetary. The cursed relics were scattered across England. The key wound up in a medium's parlor shop and the gallow in the Museum of Torture.
Gentleman Ghost stole the three artifacts and performed the ceremony to raise and took control of the convicts. In the battle, Batman destroyed the artifacts. The convicts turned on Gentleman Ghost and pulled him into the netherworld.
