Mr. Star runs a jewellery show in the Gotham City of the Bat-Manga universe. While showcasing Gotham's finest jewel-smiths, the "Light of the Century" (also known as "Gem of Fire") ruby was unveiled for the audience. However, a super villain named Lord Death Man staged a robbery and stole everything. A few days later, Mr. Star organized another event. A man would be literally buried alive and emerge an hour later alive and well. Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson were in attendance. After the man, a yogi, revealed his secret technique, Wayne realized it was such a skill that Lord Death Man also knew and used twice.
