History
Iron Heights is a maximum-security prison facility located in Gotham City. In recent times, it has specialized in incarcerating super villains and metahumans. It is said that inmates are kept in their costumes for quick identification, given minimal living conditions, and are shot on sight if they successfully escape.
Some of the more famous inmates are Gorilla Grodd, Black Manta, Clock King, Felix Faust, Kite Man, Egghead, King Tut, Ma Parker, Louie the Lilac, Shame, Mad Hatter, Bookworm, Archer, False Face, Siren, Marsha Queen of Diamonds, Black Widow, and Major Disaster. Batman and Green Arrow later intervened in a prison riot that involved 52 inmates. Merlin travelled from the 5th century and fashioned himself as the 53rd inmate to draw Batman and Green Arrow's attention.
Batman, Red Tornado, and Tornado Champion arrived to prevent Major Disaster from escaping. In doing so, Tornado Champion began to show greater sighs of instability and had to be stopped.
Soon after, the Music Meister freed Iron Heights' inmates to participate in his global scheme. Several months later, Batman and Flash escorted Captain Boomerang to Iron Heights.
