The Great Wall of China is an amazing feat of engineering. Built, rebuilt, and expanded since the 5th century, the Wall was commissioned by Qin Shi Huang in order to centralize the Qin Dynasty and neutralize the threat of warlords and nomads. It was originally constructed using a rammed earth technique in which earth and gravel was stamped between the frames of the wall. After passing through dynasties, the first major change was when the Wall was fixed with bricks and rocks by the Ming Dynasty against the Mongols. The Wall was finally crossed in 1644 when a border general named Wu Sangui betrayed the Shun Dynasty and allowed the Manchu in.
Today, the Great Wall of China is a tourist attraction. With a total length of 5500 miles, the Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan in the eastern China to Lop Lake in the west. However, in the present era, the Wall was one on the places on Earth invaded by Apokolips.
